Jobs in Canada
- Many consider Canada as one of the wealthiest countries in the world. But its apparent prosperity and development were not achieved over a short period of time. The growth which Canada is experiencing today can be attributed to numerous factors, and one of these aspects deals with the steady expansion of employment in the country. Apart from being an excellent tourist destination, Canada is also much sought after by both locals and foreigners due to the favorable work opportunities it presents.
Similar to other first world nations, Canada has an abundance of employers that are ready to hire prospective competent applicants. Majority of these employers belong to the service industry; hence, the primary sources of jobs in Canada are establishments that focus on what economists call intangible goods. Examples of these service-providing institutions are hotels, restaurants, media companies, hospitals and other health care organizations, and businesses related to franchising and retailing. Secondary to the service industry are those that produce tangible goods such as oil and lumber. Consequently, there are also numerous companies which offer employment in Canada that are related to the said fields. The oil industry, for instance, provides occupations including those for engineers, technicians, and miners. Similarly, the logging industry has the same set of jobs as those found in the oil industry, with the only exception of those for loggers.
Moving on, other major sources of work in Canada are companies under the agriculture and manufacturing industries. People who are skilled in the said fields can therefore find jobs in the Canadian Prairies as well as in the manufacturing sectors such as those for automobiles and aircrafts.
